Rightwing racism against south Asians spurs voter mobilization in Texas
Summary
Experts describe Texas as ground zero for discrimination against south Asians, and they say it is motivating voters to fight back. Last winter, while Pooja Sethi was canvassing to become the Democratic candidate for the Texas House of Representatives, a staff member alerted her to an X post by Turning Point USA influencer Savanah Hernandez, a Trump supporter known for videos that target immigrants.
