Terms and Conditions
These terms apply to everyone who uses ChordNews. By using the site, or by registering an account, you agree to them.
1. What ChordNews is
ChordNews collects news from many websites and has an AI write one summary per event, with a timeline of what each outlet reported and a link to each original article. The summaries are written by AI and are not checked by an editor. They can be incomplete or wrong. Always follow the links for the original reporting, and do not rely on ChordNews for legal, medical, financial or other professional advice.
2. Who can use it
Anyone may read the news. To register an account you must be 18 years old or older and give an email address that is yours. Registering means you confirm both.
3. Your account
- An account is for one person. Keep your password to yourself; you are responsible for what is done with your account.
- Your username is public: it is shown on your comments. Your email address is never shown to other readers.
- We may suspend or remove an account that breaks these terms.
4. Likes, shares and comments
- Comments are public and you are responsible for what you write.
- Do not post anything illegal, hateful, harassing, threatening or sexually explicit; spam or advertising; other people’s personal information; or anything pretending to be someone else.
- We may remove any comment, at any time. By posting, you let us show your comment on ChordNews.
5. Other publishers’ content
Headlines, pictures and articles from other outlets belong to their publishers. ChordNews links to them and shows the pictures their feeds provide. If you own content shown here and want it removed, contact us and we will remove it.
6. Your data
- With an account we store your email address, username, password (only in a form that cannot be read back), your settings, your likes, shares and comments, and when you last logged in. We use them only to run the site.
- The site sets one cookie, which keeps you logged in. It is needed for the site to work.
- We count visits and clicks with privacy-friendly analytics that set no cookies and do not identify you.
- We do not sell your data or show you ads. We email you only about your account, such as the link to verify your address.
7. Deleting your account
You can delete your account at any time in Settings. Deleting it is permanent: your account, likes, shares and comments are deleted for good and cannot be restored.
8. No guarantees
ChordNews is provided as it is, without any guarantee that it is accurate, complete or always available. As far as the law allows, we are not responsible for any loss that comes from using the site or relying on its summaries.
9. Changes
We may change these terms. When we do, the date above changes and you are asked to agree again before going on.
