Nine men go on trial accused of abusing woman drugged and raped by her husband

Summary

Nine men have gone on trial at Manchester Minshull Street crown court, accused of taking part in the abuse of a woman who was drugged, raped and sexually assaulted by her husband, or of encouraging it online. The husband, who cannot be named to protect his victim's anonymity, has already pleaded guilty to a number of offences against his wife spanning more than two decades, carried out at the couple's home in Stockport. The court heard that he 'lived a double life masked in respectability' and that he found a large number of men whose fantasy is an unconscious and unresponsive woman to allegedly take part in the abuse.
