Israelis abroad fly home to vote in Israel's crucial election

Summary

Tens of thousands of Israelis living abroad, including many in California's Bay Area, have flown home to cast their ballots in Israel's election, which many voters see as a referendum on Benjamin Netanyahu. The Times of Israel describes the trip as a national emergency and quotes one returning voter, who spent thousands of dollars to come back, saying Israel ‘is on the verge of an abyss’ and that ‘we need to bring back sanity’.
