Israeli raids, demolitions and settler attacks hit Palestinians across West Bank
Summary
Israeli forces and settlers carried out demolitions, raids and attacks across the occupied West Bank on Friday, according to the Palestinian news agency Wafa. Israel sealed off Hebron after a shooting attack killed two Israeli soldiers there. In Hebron, bulldozers levelled a tile factory, shops and some seven dunams of Palestinian land, and troops began demolishing a three-apartment residential building. Israeli forces also ordered hundreds of families in the Ein Deir Bahha area of Hebron to evacuate. In Beit Ummar, several Palestinians suffered tear gas inhalation, and movement was restricted in al-Fawwar refugee camp. In Bethlehem and Salfit governorates, a family was forced out of its home in Kafr ad-Dik, which was used as a military barracks. Near Bethlehem, Palestinian landowners and solidarity activists were forced off their olive groves at gunpoint. Al Jazeera reported raids on at least 13 northern West Bank towns, with dozens of Palestinians detained. In al-Mughayyir, settlers severely beat a Palestinian man, and Israeli forces detained him and blocked an ambulance; the nature of his injuries remains unclear. In Burin, settlers protected by Israeli forces reportedly tried to set fire to a home, and west of Jenin families in Khirbet Srouj were given a week to leave their homes and livestock shelters.
